Last week we had our quarterly meeting for 100 Women of the Hill Country at the Kendall Inn, who has graciously allowed us to use their venue. If you haven’t heard of this group, it’s a local, philanthropic group of women who meet quarterly to contribute and connect with local charities throughout the Texas Hill Country. Collectively, as a group, we aim to give $10,000 to a local non profit at each meeting. It is with much joy that we share that we have been able to give $228,000 to our community since August 2021. If you’d like to read more about the organization, you can find that here.

An Update

At our recent meeting, Texas Burn Survivors was awarded a $20,500 grant. This significant contribution funds over two-thirds of their upcoming summer camp, Camp David. Camp David offers a week of adventure and discovery tailored for pediatric burn survivors aged 7 to 16. Participants engage in activities like fishing, archery, and horseback riding. More crucially, the camp teaches children how to interact effectively with others, enhancing their ability to recover from their injuries and to build self-confidence, self-esteem, and coping skills. With 35 children already committed to attending, the camp is looking forward to welcoming even more.

At each meeting, we have the opportunity to hear from three various charities that serve in our community. Below is a recap of each local nonprofit, as well as how they support the Texas Hill Country.

The Hope Center

The Hope Center is dedicated to empowering individuals by addressing their immediate and diverse needs with the compassion of Jesus. Committed to promoting human dignity and self-sufficiency, they offer a range of supportive services including a Food Pantry, Financial Assistance, and outreach referrals. Additionally, their new Thrift Store welcomes donations, further supporting their mission to help those in need.

Roy Maas Youth Alternatives

Roy Maas Youth Alternatives (RMYA) offers essential support to at-risk youth through both emergency shelter and long-term housing solutions. This non-profit organization delivers comprehensive residential care alongside therapeutic treatment for children emerging from abusive and neglectful backgrounds. RMYA’s mission is to promote individual success and cultivate healthy relationships within a nurturing, safe environment. They are committed to providing children and families with the necessary tools to break the cycle of abuse and pave the way for positive, lasting change.

LOVE Kendall County Kids

This remarkable organization operates entirely through the dedication of volunteers, collaborating with local schools, churches, nonprofits, government bodies, and businesses united in the belief that no child should face hunger. They provide programs centered on food provision, enrichment, and critical home repairs. One of their key initiatives ensures that lunches are delivered to students in need during school breaks.

Our Newest Grant Recipient

We are excited to announce that we awarded a $20,500 grant to Roy Maas Youth Alternatives. They will use this grant money to support their food program, a cost exceeding $180,000.

100 Hearts Award

The Gahm Real Estate Team is honored to sponsor the 100 Hearts Award to both The Hope Center and LOVE Kendall County Kids.

As always, a huge thank you to Melissa Ashley Photography for donating your time and talent to capture our event.
