The heart of the Texas Hill Country is evident in the gatherings of the 100 Women of the Hill Country. Our recent meeting at the Fair Oaks Ranch Country Club exemplifies the spirit of generosity and connection. Additionally, as a group, we meet quarterly with a singular mission: to support and uplift local charities in Boerne and the surrounding areas. Our goal is to donate over $10,000 each quarter to a nonprofit in our community. Impressively, our collective efforts have contributed $172,500 to various causes, impacting lives in our community.
Spotlight on Charities
In our latest meeting, we had the honor to hear from three inspiring nonprofits:
- Hill Country Youth Orchestras (HCYO): Celebrating over 30 years, HCYO brings the joy of the orchestra experience to our youth, completely tuition-free. Serving over 150 students across three campuses, their mission is to bring the joy of the orchestra experience to the youth of the Texas Hill Country.
- Pathways: Since 1992, Pathways has been a beacon of hope, offering a range of services from foster care and adoption to behavioral health. Their impactful work has touched over 10,000 children, permanently placing an additional 4,000 to forever families.
- Rory the Warrior: Born from a personal tragedy, Rory the Warrior is a true embodiment of turning pain into purpose. They supply “Hero Boxes” containing everything from bandages to emergency oxygen to ensure volunteer emergency personnel have the equipment they need to respond in an emergency.
Congratulations to Our Grant Recipient
This quarter, we were thrilled to award Rory the Warrior with a grant of $20,500! This contribution will equip local first responders with essential emergency supplies, directly saving lives in our community.
